It all began with an idea.

Puskara is the vision of Vigneshwari, an evid saree lover with a sharp eye for detail and a deep respect for how fabrics make us feel.

Born and brought up in Singapore, she built her saree brand from the ground up — alone, in India — driven by a love for good design and the quiet power of wearing something well made.

To her, a saree isn’t just clothing. It’s a second skin. Her pieces reflect a belief in slow beauty — breathable textures, graceful movement, and subtle strength. Each saree is designed to sit lightly on the body, but carry weight in meaning.

PUSKARA started from the women in my life — the ones who showed me what a saree could mean, long before I ever imagined I’d be building something around it.

PUshpa aatha — I watched her pleat and tuck with that effortless rhythm only grandmothers have. One safety pin, a smile, and she was ready for the world. She wore sarees everywhere. She had this beautiful, knowing smile — and I like to think I’ve inherited just a little of it

SAroja aatha tied my very first saree. She calls me “meow” like a cat, and we still tease each other like old friends. She’s helped me drape myself more times than I can count, and in doing that, she helped me feel confident — held, put together, seen. Now when she sees me in a PUSKARA saree, she just raises one eyebrow and gives me that quiet look of approval

RAni, my maa — I’ve bought her more sarees than I can count. Chosen colours for her, matched blouses, folded them together. She still wears the ones we picked years ago. And sometimes, I help her tie hers too.

If your amma fixed your pleats, your akka picked your blouse, and your paati had notes — welcome. You’re one of us now!
